The Democrats are very good at keeping poor people poor. They deceive the poor and uneducated into thinking that the government needs to take care of them. That kills the incentive to improve one's own life. The Democrats do not want poverty to end. If people work their way out of poverty, they'll realize that prosperity comes from ambition, not from government hand outs. The Democrats need poor people so they can have more votes.
References :
Common sense.

It hardly concerns me.

Why is it that you right-wingers are angry about nickles and dimes going to the needy but you have no contempt for Obama handing over trillions of dollars from the public till to the super-rich, criminal banksters?
References :
I am not happy with ANYONE supporting the continuation of this cycle.

I do agree that there are cases where people need assistance to survive but the present guidelines for these programs are too lenient.
References :
I don't mind paying for programs that can help people. I don't care for the welfare system but its the best we have for now. I also think that there should be better programs in place for reducing the high school drop out rate.

As far as Sharpton, don't put too much stock into any stats he puts out there in the media. I'm sure you can find more credible stats on your own.
References :
The main things for the democrats is that they can control you, making you dependent on them. That is why, for example, they fight against the wishes of inner city families who want school choice for their kids. This is at the root of why they want to take away peoples guns also. It is about control and making you need them.
References :
http://www.voicesofschoolchoice.org/

The pork infested bill that Obama singed into law and backed by the democrat majority also provided a 32% increase for welfare recipients with 20% in 2009 and 12% in 2010.

Obama also worked on the bill when he was a Senator. The contents of this bill did not come as a surprise to Obama or the democrat majority. A certain amount of Pork had to be added into the bill to get the very small number of Republic votes it needed to pass the bill.

The records show this bill to increase welfare funding was sponsored and pushed by the democrats.

"Sharpton says 80% of blacks are born out of wedlock and 50% drop out of school"

That is the product of the US Government welfare program.

This can not be blamed on poverty, the lack of education facilities or racial discrimination. Let the 50% who do not drop out serve as proof.
References :
Actually the Republicans can take their share of the blame. Billions of dollars that could have gone into education have instead gone into spending on fulfilling the paperwork requirements of No Child Left Behind, and without the depression the Bush administration dumped us into, there would be a lot more people working rather than starving and living on the streets. ?°)
